Key things YOU do when reading CARS passages

HI!

I was wondering if some people would be kind enough to list a few KEY things YOU do when doing CARS passages.

I want to try other people techniques and adopt what works for me. Please, if you can all just post what works for you, I will appreciate it. Maybe what works for you will work for me.
