Good prep classes?

I'll be studying for the MCAT next semester and I feel like I'll need to take some kind of class to hold myself accountable. Any recommendations? (What company, online vs in-person, etc.) I'll be taking fewer course hours in the fall to give myself time to prepare well and hopefully take the January 2017 test.

Hello, I am new to SDN and had a couple of questions/need some guidance.

So I just got my MCAT score for April 1st, 2016 and it is a HORRENDOUS 485. I thought I wouldve atleast cracked the 500 but NO.

I studied for a solid 6 months, did extensive content review cause I needed it. I was scoring like 68-75% on AAMC material. I worked full time nights and studied throughout the day.

Mistakes I made: I underestimated time, started doing practice questions and FL 2 months before the exam....

Low MCAT score , How to improve. I know I can better.

I received my April 1st MCAT results back, and overall I am pleased with the results!

C/P: 123 (33%)
CARS: 128 (90%)
Bio: 124 (44%)
Psych 129 (92%)

Composite: 504 (67%)

I intend to apply for allopathic programs in the US after completing an MSc with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in Control of Infectious Diseases. The LSHTM is globally ranked with JH's school of public health and Harvard. What's more, I have a BS with a double major in Biochemistry...

Is this mcat unbalanced. I really don't wanna retake but am not sure if the bio section will hurt me.
128 c/p, 127 cars, 126 b/b, 128 p/s-509 total

3.8gpa and moderate to good EC's! Thanks for the help

Hello everyone,
I appreciate you for reading this. Apparently, I have a very strong penchant for self-loathing, so I waited until August to take my MCAT and apply this MD cycle. I'm aware this is risky, and I'm okay with that. However, my Diagnostics assert that I seem to have forgotten everything that is Bio, Chem or Physics related (30%>). Nevertheless, I score within the 80%> consistently on CARS and Psych. I desperately need help on constructing a study plan that is mainly Content...

My testing center will not provide earmuffs - just plugs?

My testing center called me today, and I asked them about this. The guy said they did not provide earmuffs, just ear plugs. I have pretty much done all of my studying with earmuffs on because I find them to work much better, and be more comfortable. At this point I've started to associate the feeling of earmuffs on my head with "time to focus!", and I think it would be disruptive to take the test without them.

I asked if I could bring my own earmuffs, still in original packaging, and...

My testing center will not provide earmuffs - just plugs?

Approach to the difficult science passages on AAMC practice tests

My question concerns the 2 official AAMC practice tests: I feel like I have content down well, but when I approach a difficult science passage on Chemical sciences or biological sciences, it is really hard to grasp what is going on in the passage. As I read these, I normally jot down notes on paper. When the passage is very detailed, I find myself writing so many notes. Is that the best strategy? or is the best strategy to skim the passage?

So my plan was to take the MCAT June 2nd after scoring 512 consistently on my full lengths early April (NS, TPR, AAMC) but with low CARS scores. What this means, is that if I can improve my cars then I can essentially give my grade a good bump.

However, as my June 2nd test date approaches, I realize I underestimate the effort it's going to take to fill out my personal statement and EC descriptions. Plus, my professor who is going to write me a LOR says he wants to read my personal statement...
