I need some advice. I'm taking the MCAT without finishing all of the AAMC practice material. Terrible, I know. I was thinking on doing some practice the day before to get as much AAMC stuff done before the actual test... I wouldn't do a FL the day before-- that'd be awful. But some passages from the question packs and the section bank, here and there, based on what I feel I need more practice on. Hey Everyone!

I myself am rewriting the MCAT for a 3rd time and am starting my schedule as of tomorrow (May 11th). I benefited from talking to others that were writing the exam on the same day as me in one of these posts the previous times, so might as well start one.

Hi, I want to start off saying I got a 497 on the new MCAT twice 40%, unfortunately. I know this kind of screws up my chances but I really do not want to give up. I was thinking about going in for one more go to try to do well on this test. I have 10 UN used exams and was hoping for someone to join me to do them.

So i'm taking the MCAT in less than a month. I feel very comfortable with the material, just spending time really practicing understanding passages. I'm taking the AAMC practice test this weekend, do I need to score in the 90% and above to have a realistic shot at getting a 510+? I've been getting around 65% on the EK practice tests ( all 4), and i'm worried that after studying for months my scores will make me push back.

on AAMC content list, searched "synthesis", only found glycogen synthesis and amino acid synthesis. Do i need to know synthesis of fatty acid, triglyceride, glycerophospholipid, cholesterol, etc?
TBR is too difficult to follow, so I am kind of lost of what to study and what not to. I'm watching Moof university videos but not sure I need to follow every videos there. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

For anyone who has taken the new MCAT, do questions build on one another (i.e. the answer of one question aids you in answering another question as long as you answered that first question correctly?)

Or do questions exist mutually exclusive from one another while still relevant to the passage?

[This question does not refer to stand-alone questions.]

Hi Guys,

Apologies if this is a repost (I used the search function and couldn't find anything about the new MCAT).

What exactly are you provided with on test day from the testing center?

Lined paper? Printer paper? Pencils and an eraser for notes? A periodic table? etc. etc. etc.

Hey guys,

Summer is approaching, so I'm looking into the mcat prep materials. I have noticed that EK is coming out with their 10th edition mcat set next week. Naturally, I was wondering if TBR is doing the same thing or done the something similar in the past. I'm planning on buying them, but I prefer to buy the latest edition if possible.

I've been studying general chemistry from kaplan, and for the most part it seems like that content is almost exactly the same as the old MCAT. But informed sources tell me AAMC like to integrate concepts into biological foundations and stuff like that.

Can you give me an example of how topics like thermochemistry (i.e heats of formation) or mechanical work would be tested on an AAMC exam? Are there still stand-alone questions or passages just straight up about stuff like this on the new MCAT?

Hi everyone,

I'm a junior and originally signed up for the June 2nd MCAT, thinking that I would have enough time to study while in school. I was wrong, and now the exam is 3 weeks away. I still haven't finished half of my content review, haven't done practice tests, and am in the middle of midterms doing poorly in Biochemistry. I don't get out of school until June 8th. Currently I have a 3.80 cGPA, 3.83 sGPA (may drop after this quarter) at a top 15 undergrad, but with kind of mediocre...

I just finished a disheartening attempt at EK fl 1... 44% overall.

I am aiming for atleast 499+ on my June 2nd MCAT (22 days!), with one week from today to decide on postponing ... Can anyone shed light on a poor EK score with a much improved real MCAT score 3 weeks later? ha

Hi everyone this is my first venture to this part of the forum haha. As I alluded to in my title is the price of the TBR set approx $400 worth it? I will provide some context below. Also apologies because this will be a bit long.

I just finished my sophomore year and have finished all the pre-reqs except biochem. Currently my sGPA is 3.66 and my cGPA is 3.76 Ideally it would be about .1 higher for both.I missed the cutoff for an A in ochem 1 by 2% and there was no. +/- I've never gotten...
