Unbalanced mcat 2015 (514) very low CARS

So I just got my Mcat score back for the 8/5 exam and i got a very unbalanced score.

I got an overall 514 which is 91st percentile but my score breakdown was:

Chem/Phys: 131 (99th percentile)
CARS: 122 (22nd percentile)
Bio/Biochem: 130 (97th percentile)
Psych/Soc: 131 (98th percentile)

I dont know what happened in CARS. I have never scored this low on a CARS section before. I am not sure if I should retake? My fear with retaking is that my science scores will go down and I will somehow...

Third MCAT attempt + reapplicant - help!

Hi everyone,

I applied this past cycle (2015-2016) with no success. I have taken the MCAT two times, score breakdown below, and I am currently scheduled to take the MCAT on June 2nd. This past cycle, I was not complete at most schools until mid-Sept/mid-Oct (some even in Nov). That in combination with my abysmal MCAT score, I believe, is what caused an unsuccessful cycle.

Jan 2015: 29 (9/11/9)
June 2015: 504 (got pneumonia 1 week prior to MCAT)

Memorizing the AAMC BS Content Outline = Good content review?

So what I have done is taken the "Content Outline for Biological Science Section of the MCAT" from the AAMC website, deleted the organic chemistry section, and filled in the entire outline with detailed explanations of each topic as best as I could. It took me approximately 24 hours of cumulative reading and writing time, and it is 40 pages long. I'm hoping I can read through this once a day in order to master content review.

I know people say "PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE" when it comes...

I'm just finishing up my first year at community college and i am already finishing up all the prerequisites for my A.A, so I am doing all the science prerequisites that i need like Gen Chem I & II, Bio I & II, Physics I & II, and Orgo Chem I, and Calc I. These are for my second year, I can't do orgo chem II since my schedule is fully loaded and i want to pass with a good grade and i heard spacing out your pre-reqs is a smart thing. So i just wanted to transfer to a university and do my orgo...

MCAT cancellation

I'm scheduled to take the MCAT this Saturday but honestly.. I don't think I'm ready.

I tried to cancel it but they said that the deadline had passed but I've been reading on other posts that you could cancel as long as it's 2 days before the test date..

Does anyone know about the cancellation policy??

I am aware that you can differentiate between the thermodynamic enolate vs. the kinetic enolate, but how does that pertain to this question? I really do not understand the logic behind their answer either.

I'm just gearing up to study for the test in March. I've noticed that some people are using Kaplan 2015 to study for their new MCAT.

2 questions:
- How's your study strategy different from the last MCAT?

3 Weeks to MCAT. 499 Full Length :/

Hey all,

I have a little over 3 weeks until my MCAT. I took a Kaplan course for the last few months and have been self studying. However, I'm worried about my practice test scores.

I got 499 on a Kaplan Diagnostic
497 on Kaplan Full Length 2
499 on Kaplan Full Length 1 (Took #1 after #2)

I'm sort of nervous because my scores aren't breaking 500. I think it's mostly an issue of getting used to the rigor of testing with the timing rather than content. Anyone else have a similar experience...

Princeton Review keep charging me for no reason??

Hello,

I registered for Princeton Review summer MCAT courses 2 months ago, and a online tutor service called "homework help" automatically was placed in my cart. I was told at that time that the first month is free and then I will receive an email asking me whether to cancel it before the second month. However, I did not get any kind of email at all from them and they charged me 39.99 for the second month, even though I did not use it at all and I did not log into Princeton Review at all....

Princeton Review keep charging me for no reason??

I was wondering if August 25th was the date for the MCAT that most schools would be considering for the next cycle. I've searched around and have been seeing a trend but am not hundred percent sure. I took time to decide whether I wanted to write the MCAT or the OAT which ended up delaying my registration. Would it be alright to take it Sept.1st or would that be too late?

Electric field equation vs Electric potential equation??

So electric field is the force a charge can exert on another charge at any given distance around it given by formula

E= kQ/d^2

Electric potential (voltage) is the amount of E.potential energy another charge can have at a distance from the original charge given by formula

V= kQ/d

my question is why is the d in electric potential not squared??

Is it because for electric potential we are assuming the field lines strength is uniform?

So, I just registered for the Kaplan in-person MCAT prep. I currently have access to prep materials like Kaplan ebooks, practice questions, the flashcard app, and the MCAT channel. Actual classes start May 25th and end July 27th, there are 12 sessions. I would like to begin studying as soon as possible so I can get the most use out of these resources since they will only last until July 27th (except the books, I'll still have those for the duration of my studying). I was checking the pinned thread for retakes, but there seems to be a lack of response in the thread so I thought I'd openly ask here (please don't kill me >.<)!~~~

Hi SDN community,

Can anyone taking the Princeton Review course post the 2016 Student Guide so those of us using the books can follow along? (The student guide details the homework for the course).
